Pressure Filtration

Pressure Filtration is used in applications where the suspended solid content is less than 5%.

Pressure filtration can be performed using the following types of filters:

• Horizontal Plate Filter
• Vertical Tank Vertical Leaf Filter
• Filterpress
• Candle / Tube Filter
• Horizontal Tank Rotating Leaf filter

The filteraid is either used as a precoat or as a bodyfeed dosage or both. Once the septum has been precoated the liquor to be filtered is pumped into the filter. The vessel is then pressurised and the liquor is forced through the filtercake. The solids are trapped within the filtercake and the clear filtrate passes through.
