K-value - Thermal Conductivity
January 6, 2011
Thermal conductivity is also referred to as the k-value and is measured in W/mºC or BTU.in/h.ft2Fº. Thermal conductivity is a measurement of the insulation properties of a material over a temperature difference. A low thermal conductivity value indicates very good insulation capabilities. As the thermal conductivity value increases, the insulation capability decreases.
