Beer Soluble Iron (BSI)

Beer Soluble Iron refers to the trace amount of iron found in diatomite and perlite filteraid which becomes soluble when beer or any other liquid filtration starts. The soluble iron is only a problem in beer filtration because the iron causes flavour instability.
